The grant helps cover the cost of supplies and equipment for a community cleanup event, such as gloves, bags, and pickup tools. Grant recipients are also asked to record their event using the free Pirika app.
The grant is open to community groups planning a cleanup event, including those affiliated with Keep America Beautiful. Grants are limited and awarded while funding is available.
The Grant provides funding for a single cleanup event. The Pilot is a longer-term, no-cost opportunity to use Pirika's AI-powered litter detection technology (Takanome) to map and monitor litter across your community. Organizations are welcome to apply for either or both.
Pirika has proven its model in Japan with dozens of municipalities and organizations. Through this partnership with Keep America Beautiful, Pirika is bringing that experience to U.S. communities for the first time.
The app collects photos, GPS location, and litter type submitted voluntarily by users. No personal data beyond what users choose to share is collected.
Our team will review your application and follow up by email. Grant recipients will receive details on next steps and how to record their cleanup event; Pilot applicants will be scheduled for an introductory call.
